Cairo: The cost of Egypt's campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, launched last Thursday in Russia, amounts to $7 million, according to Masrawy.

Last week, Egypt-Discover and Invest Campaign had signed a contract with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to become the official regional and African sponsor of the 2018 World Cup held in Russia.

The deal aims to promote Egypt as a global investment destination and to attract more tourists from all over the world.

It is worth noting that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast that Egypt’s tourism revenues will rise by 25.7% in fiscal year 2017/2018.

A recent report had said that tourism revenues soared by more than 125% in 2017 as the number of tourists visiting the North African nation grew by 53.7%.
