The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has pumped a total of about EGP 10.4m investment into 350 projects from January to July in 2021 in Luxor, as part of the Decent Life initiative, providing nearly 771 job opportunities, according to Amr El-Hawary, Director of the Sixth Region of MSMEDA.

In the field of non-financial services, Al-Hawari said that dozens of awareness-raising seminars have been held to promote the services of MSMEDA, and facilitation and tax incentives provided by the Small Enterprises Development Law for entrepreneurs. The Luxor branch of MSMEDA coordinated with partner agencies to train and qualify nearly 200 youth on entrepreneurial skills.

MSMEDA continues its efforts within the framework of the presidential initiative, Hayah Karima, to develop citizens’ skills and train youth in the field of entrepreneurship and various handicrafts with the aim of helping them self-employment and establishing and financing their own small projects.

Montaser Abdel Rahim, Director of MSMEDA branch in Luxor, explained that coordination is currently underway to hold two training courses in Armant town, Luxor. The first is to raise entrepreneurship skills and qualify young people to set up and successfully manage small projects. The second is to teach women sewing. The two sessions will be held in Armant during the second half of this September.
