ArabFinance President Abdel Fattah el Sisi requested the government to approve a number of state-run non-profit universities at a total cost of EGP 30 billion, Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady announced on August 4th.

The universities will be built on land plots affiliated to the New Urban Communities Authority.

This includes Suez Canal University in East Ismailia and Port Said University in Alsalam city, Rady noted.

Egypt plans to establish this new type of non-profit institutions to produce advanced degree holders, especially in the technology sector whether locally or abroad.
