Egypt’s engineering exports increased by 8% to $1.340bn in the first half (H1) of fiscal year (FY) 2020/21, compared to $1.240bn during the same period of FY 2019/20.

In December 2020, the country’s engineering exports surged by 15% to $213.6m, compared to $185.6m in the same month of 2019. Moreover, it recorded an increase of 25%, registering EGP 235m in November 2020 compared to EGP 188m in November 2019.

The products that witnessed export increase are: transportation vehicles representing 91%; cables with 21%; home appliances with 20%; automotive parts with 14%; and electric and electronic industries by 3%.

The largest importers of Egyptian engineering products in Europe were the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Slovenia.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and Hong Kong were the largest importers of Egyptian engineering products in Asia, while Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria were the largest in Africa.

The Engineering Export Council of Egypt’s (EECE) mission is to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian Engineering products.

It does so by providing export-related services to enhance marketing capabilities, strengthen human skills, and eliminate obstacles.
