Egypt Railway Authority is in talks with global technology giant Siemens to buy 50 new locomotives, said Arab Finance Brokerage, citing a senior source.

The negotiations also include maintenance works for 50 of Siemens Henschel, a model that has been efficiently operating in Egypt since the 70s, it stated.

Last month, Egypt had announced that it had received 20 new locomotives from GE Transportation, it added.
