Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Bahrain's Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) have signed an MoU to collaborate and partner for sustainability initiatives in Bahrain, it was announced on Tuesday.
 
DEWA said in a press statement that both parties will exchange and share best global experiences and practices in energy efficiency, and renewable energy, and enhance cooperation to address energy related areas in the Kingdom.
 
These include Energy Performance Contracting (ESCO) Projects, Solar On-Grid and Off-Grid Installations, Facility Management and Electromechanical Services, IT Solutions and Technologies Including Command and Control Centres, IoT, Smart Automation and Network Operations, and Capacity Building Training Services.
 
The virtual MoU signing ceremony took place in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, President of SEA.
 
Bahrain's National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) has set a target of 6 percent reduction in energy consumption by 2025.
