Government of Dubai Media Office – Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) today announced the appointment of Mr. Khalid Al Sheikh Al Shamsi as part of DHCA’s leadership team.

Al Shamsi will resume the role, effective immediately, of Representative of the Chairperson of DHCA, the governing body of Dubai Healthcare City free zone. His impressive track record stems from over 30 years of experience at many of Dubai’s Government Authorities. Previously, he has held positions of Deputy Director General at Dubai Health Authority and Deputy Director General at Al Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department, as well as Dubai Director of Finance and Administration at the Department of Ports & Customs. Mr. Al Shamsi has also worked at the Dubai Police Headquarters. He graduated from Emirates University in the UAE with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, speicalizing in Economics and Accounting.

“It is with great pleasure I appoint Khalid Al Shamsi to take charge of the office of the Chairperson of DHCA,” stated HRH Princess Haya. “Under the direction of HH Sheikh Mohammed, we have seen Dubai Healthcare City grow to become an internationally recognized location of choice for quality healthcare and an integrated center of excellence for clinical and wellness services, medicine and research. I know that Mr. Al Shamsi has excellent management skills and that he will contribute his vast knowledge and experience in his new role, in working with the Board of Directors of DHCA, the team and I towards achieving excellent services at DHCC, in line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammad’s vision.”

Khalid Al Shamsi will be responsible for driving DHCA to the next level, building on the solid foundation achieved by the organization’s management and team. In his capacity managing and reporting to the Chairperson of DHCA, he will assume all responsibilities related to day-to-day operations at the Dubai Healthcare City Authority.

He will work closely with HRH Princess Haya and the Board of Directors, reporting directly on all operational and administrative activities, including business control, business operations and joint ventures support. He will also be accountable for managing DHCA’s vertical entities, including Dubai Healthcare City Education, Research, and Regulatory and Dubai Healthcare City Medical the new cluster that will be announced by HRH Princess Haya in the near future that will oversee healthcare entities for DHCA, and Dubai Healthcare City Investments, which oversees joint ventures and real estate for DHCC.
