Last year, Ajman Modern School made investments in specialist international teachers, new technologies and upgraded facilities to meet the goals of the UAE National Agenda 2021. And after any busy period, time to reflect and measure the impact of change is needed.

At the start of the 2019/2020 year, the school witnessed drastic improvements in English, Math and Science achievements during the Measure of Academic Progress (MAPs) testing, and continued improvements were expected.

The latest MAPs results show just that.

During the tests completed this fall, there were notable gains in all subjects. The biggest improvement were seen in Science with an average gain of 4.5 points. Reading followed, with an average gain of 4.4 points. Emirati students in particular have seen the biggest improvement, with a 10 point increase on average with Math increases particularly impressive.

The effects of the building refurbishment and newly designed library are proving worthy additions to the schools offering.

Mentorship programmes, a school councillor, programme specific committees to cover the National Agenda, literacy and innovation are amongst the other initiatives proving to aid the recent successes.

It’s been a time of fast-paced change at Ajman Modern School, but the vast increases in academic results provide evidence that it is in fact a school changing for the better, and most importantly, the students are reaping the rewards.
