AJMAN, 25th March, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirate of Ajman will launch a community initiative to provide a package of integrated services and facilities for the welfare and wellbeing of the elderly in the emirate.

The initiative, titled "Our Duty", will support the Year of Giving's pillar for partnership and voluntary work between the government and the private sector.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, issued instructions on the launch of the initiative during a discussion at the emirate's Executive Council meeting on the institutional framework of social development.

The Executive Council approved the policy agenda of top priority for 2017 and key features of Ajman Vision 2021 during a meeting today, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi at the Ruler's Court.

The agenda and vision cover local vital economic sectors, public-private partnership, waste management policy, transport and mobility, smart security systems, the safety of lives and properties, health insurance and job opportunities for Emiratis.

While reviewing the best international practices on transparency of government data, the council instructed further improvements of transparency, disclosure and sharing of data, and to introduce principles of governance in government work.
