Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has signed an MoU with Paris-listed Technip Energies (TE) to create a joint venture (JV), for energy transition and enhancing cooperation in decarbonisation projects.

The MoU, signed at GASTECH, taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre this week, specifies cooperation in blue and green hydrogen related projects in the UAE and the MENA region.

NPCC, wholly owned by National Marine Dredging Company PJSC, will work in partnership with Technip Energies (TE) to capture opportunities in energy transition and on fostering the best engineering practices.

In its statement posted to Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) TE said there was ‘unprecedented momentum in the industry for clean energy’ and that the two companies would create a JV to drive the energy transition journey, following on from an existing partnership which dates back three decades.

The partnership will now focus on enhancing blue and green hydrogen projects and related decarbonisation projects, CO2 capture, waste-to-energy, biorefining, biochemistry ammonia as well as other energy transition-related themes, the statement said.
