ABU DHABI - Abu Dhabi General Services Company, Musanada, has revealed that it has completed all the works of the AED113.7 million Phase 22 of the internal roads construction project across various locations in Al Ain city on a total area of 1.2 million square metres.

Musanada said that it developed new 450 plots and three new wells. It also constructed a bridge over Al Ain valley to connect the newly developed land at Al Markhaniya to the old region, besides development of 702 plots in Phase 21 and 661 plots in Phase 23 of the project, to a total of 1,813 plots developed during the three phases of the project which included construction of roads, lighting, stormwater drainage, potable water and sanitation networks, besides sidewalks and cycling paths.

The company added that it completed 88 percent of the works pertaining to Phase 21 for a total value of AED127.48 million stretching over 1.7 million sqm as part of the Al Ain internal roads project. It also completed 87 percent of the works pertaining to Phase 23 for a total value of AED112.1 million, including all the infrastructure works that will serve 438 new residential plots across 14 locations in Al Ain.

Musanada indicated that the total value of the three phases 21, 22 and 23 of the Al Ain internal roads project will be over AED353.3 million, noting that it was keen on conserving power consumption and reducing operating costs as per the agreed specifications by using LED lighting in the three projects.

Elaborating on the details of the works pertaining to Phase 22 which started in December 2016 and was completed in full, Saleh Al Sheibah Al Mazrouei, Musanadas Acting Roads and Infrastructure Executive Director, said that roads and infrastructure works included potable water, sanitation, stormwater drainage and street lighting networks for serving 432 plots across 10 locations.

To ensure highest levels of comfort and welfare for residents, the multiple locations of the project were provided with all the infrastructure services.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that this phase included construction of a 27km road network, 15km sanitation network, 250 inspection chambers, 16km stormwater drainage network, street lighting network, 16km potable water network, 4km cycling path, all to serve 323 vacant plots and 430 existing plots across several locations in Al Ain city and region. In addition, a 720m link to the circular road at Al Tawia area with three lanes in each direction was also constructed.

He added that works pertaining to Phase 21 started in August 2017 to be completed in August 2019. The total value of that phase of the project exceeds AED127.48 million over an area of 1.7 million sqm.

Al Mazrouei said that roads and infrastructure works included sanitation, stormwater drainage, potable water, and internal street lighting networks, besides a 38km internal road network serving over 700 plots across 13 locations.

He further noted that the work involved coordination with several entities such as Al Ain City Municipality, Department of Transport, Al Ain Distribution Company and Al Ain Sewerage Services Company for construction of the internal roads, stormwater, street lighting, sanitation and potable water networks, in addition to extending the future underground power lines.

As for Phase 23, Al Mazrouei said that works pertaining to Phase 23 started in August 2017 to be completed in August 2019. The percentage of completion currently stands at 87.5 percent and the total value of this phase of the project exceeds AED112.1 million.

The works of Phase 23 covers all infrastructure works to serve 500 new residential plots over 14 locations across Al Ain.

The scope of work pertaining to that phase includes construction of 22.3km roads, 16km stormwater pipelines, 13km sanitation pipelines, 23.5km potable water pipelines, installation of 720 street lighting poles, and the aim is to provide fully integrated services to ensure highest levels of comfort and welfare for residents of those locations.
