Manama, Arabian Gulf University: The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) President Dr Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Ohaly recently issued a resolution appointing Dr Wid Daghustani as the new Head of the Learning Difficulties and Developmental Disabilities Department at the University's College of Graduate Studies (CGS).

On the occasion, Dr Daghustani expressed her deep thanks to Dr Al Ohaly for his continuous support to the university's faculty members, and for providing an academic environment that is incubating and encouraging to scientific research. She further commented: "At AGU, we aim to be a distinguished academic and research centre at the regional level in particular and the international level in general."

Dr Daghustani holds a PhD in education from the University of Glasgow, Scotland (2017), with a specialisation in autism and social justice, and a Master's degree in intellectual disability and autism from AGU (2011).  It is worth mentioning that  Dr Daghustani began her academic career by teaching in many colleges and institutes across the region. This includes teaching English language at the College of Medicine at Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia, as well as teaching in the College of Community Service and the Talented Programme in Saudi Aramco.

Additionally, Dr Daghustani has several participations in specialised courses in the educational field, autism and administrative leadership, such as the strategic leadership programme at Oxford University in the UK. She also participated in many local and international conferences and symposia, such as the International Conference on the Future of Education, ICFE in London -2019, in addition to conducting several researches in the field of autism and social justice.
