KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Education has allotted 91 schools as emergency shelters in various governorates, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources from the educational sector.

Sources revealed to the daily that in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry has fully equipped these centers, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Department, as per the instruction of acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Faisal Al-Maqseed and within the framework of precautionary measures being taken to prevent further spread of corona.

Sources said 16 of these schools are located in Jahra Governorate, 17 in the Capital, 12 in Farwaniya, 17 in Hawally, 12 in Mubarak Al- Kabeer and 17 in Ahmadi.
