Swedish access products and solutions conglomerate ASSA ABLOY Group broke ground on Sunday for its Middle East, India, and Africa (MEIA) region head office in National Industries Park (NIP) in Dubai.
 
The company manufactures mechanical and digital locks, cylinders, keys, tags, security doors and automated entrances under 190 brands including Yale for home access and security, and HID for identification technology.
 
NIP said in a press statement that the 24,000-square metre facility will also house a 6,000 sqm manufacturing area, a 2,000 sqm warehouse and an 800-sqm showroom.
 
The new facility is scheduled for completion in June 2022, the statement said, noting that it will consolidate the operating units of different ASSA ABLOY entities in Dubai.
 
Abdulla Al Jasmi, Head of NIP said such facilities will complement the country’s plans of increasing the industrial sector’s contribution to the national GDP from the current 133 billion UAE dirhams to 300 billion dirhams by 2031, and help the UAE in fulfilling the principles of The Projects of the 50.
 
Mauro Felice, Head of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Middle East, India and Africa said the new head office in NIP will help the company increase its revenue streams and brand awareness, and become a preferred choice for all the other facilities in Jafza and NIP.
 
The statement also noted that the facvility would be 100 percent powered by solar and accomodate almost 200 white-collar and 100 blue-collar employees.
