Egypt's Hassan Allam Holding (HAH) announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a contract to build two stations and four bridges for the Egypt's recently announced high-speed train project.
 
HAH said in a press statement that its Construction unit will build the Alamein station and Wadi El Natroun station, while its Roads and Bridges unit will build two road bridges and two rail bridges.
 
HAH has estimated the total value of the contracts at $220 million.
 
The road bridges - first, 195 metres length/520 metres width, and second, 520 metres length/30 metres width - will be located on the regional ring road and the Quarry Road respectively, while the rail bridges - first,  1,000 metres length/13.3 metres width and second, 3,000 metres length/13.3 metres width, will be located in the 6th of October City.
 
Last week, Germany's Siemens Mobility has announced that its consortium with Orascom Construction and The Arab Contractors signed a $4.5 billion turnkey contract with Egypt's National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) the country's first high-speed, electrified main and freight rail line.
 
The consortium will design, install, commission, and maintain the systems for 15 years, Siemens Moblity had said in a statement adding that contract signed covers the initial 660 kilometres out of the 1,800 km rail network planned.
 
The first line will connect the port cities of Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea to Marsa Matrouh and Alexandria on the Mediterranean. It is expected to transport more than 30 million people per year and increase the total inland freight transported on rails by 15 percent.
 
The two additional lines will connect the Greater Cairo region from 6th October City along the Nile River with Aswan, and Luxor via Hurghada to Safaga.
