Dubai Outlet Mall and Abu Dhabi-headquartered retail giant Lulu Group have entered into a strategic alliance to introduce the first megamarket concept in the region.

"The cash and carry concept [which leverages bulk buying prices] offers UAE residents/shoppers exclusive bargains as well as a broad range of low cost, high value products at competitive prices focused on merchandise quality, wide selection as well as customer ease and convenience," Dubai Outlet Mall said in a press statement.

The new megamarket concept will be launched as part of the Dubai Outlet Mall expansion project, which will add more than 3.5 million square feet of space to make it the largest outlet mall in the world.

Apart from the megamarket, the expansion also includes a cinema, community space and a purpose-built state-of-the art live arena for concerts, the statement noted.

"We are confident in the demand for bargains and cash and carry goods and look forward to being pioneers together in this area of retail," said Yusuff Ali M.A, Chairman & Managing Director of Lulu Group.

“To further strengthen the mall’s value proposition and omnichannel experience, we support the evolution of a successful first value shopping mall in the region," added Ali Khammas, Executive Director of Dubai Outlet Mall.

Dubai Outlet Mall, which opened in 2007, is home to over 1,300 brands with over 240 stores.
