Oman-based Al Afia Healthcare Development and Investment Company has announced the start of construction works at the 100-bed Idealmed Hospital Project in capital Muscat. It is likely to be completed in Q4 of 2020.

The new hospital, a joint venture between Oman-Brunei Investment Company, Suhail Bahwan Group Holding and the Portuguese Idealmed Group, is strategically located in Al Ghubra area of Muscat and will come up on a 10,000-sq-m area, reported Oman News Agency.

The facility will boast 40 clinics for various medical specialties, stated the report.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Sa'eedi, Minister of Health, in the presence of Abdul Salam bin Mohammed al-Morshedi, CEO of the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF), it added.
