(TAP) - Nine tourism projects with funds worth 228 million dinars are underway in Nabeul governorate, Local Tourism Commissioner Wahid Ben Fraj told TAP on Saturday.

The projects, carried out in Nabeul and Hammamet, consist of two 5-star hotel units, a tourist residence, 4 hostels and 2 guesthouses.

The local tourism authority recently approved 8 more investment accommodation projects in Somâa, Kélibia, Haouaria and Takelsa.

The latest statistics published by the authority showed tourist indicators in the region are on the rise with 52,954 visitors in September 2021, against only 31,076 visitors during the same period in 2020, or a 73.6% growth.

Likewise, the number of overnight stays has also increased 131,964 overnight stays in September 2021, from 100,891 in September 2020, i.e. a 30% rise.
