Government of Uganda planned to develop Uganda Standard Gauge Railway Project, in Kampala, Uganda. The project covered the construction of 271 km railway, which was expected to mark out the entire path from Malaba to Kampala, began in the village of Bulaka in Namutumba district and would cover different areas in Bukedi and Busoga Sub-regions before heading to other districts. The project was delayed due to plan review. The project would ease local transportation and link Uganda to border countries. With Chinese Fund involving, this project was recognized to contribute to BRI construction.
