Lasa Comprehensive Bonded Area Project

Also known as: Lasa Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Project
Ongoing

Background

Tibet Autonomous Regional People's Government planned to develop Lasa Comprehensive Bonded Area Project, in Lhasa Economic and Technological Development Zone, Lasa, Xizang, China. The project covered the construction of a bonded area zone with a maritime inspection building covering a total area of 8400 sq.m. The establishment of a comprehensive bonded zone was a key carrier for Tibet to undertake the “Belt and Road” and the “Mengzhong-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor”. It was expected to be the core support for building Tibet into an important channel open to South Asia and Lhasa into an open central city facing South Asia. It would also increase the level of facility interconnection between Tibet and neighboring countries and provinces.
