Background

Deira Waterfront Development L.L.C planned to develop Deira Waterfront Development Project - Phase 1 - Plot 1,2,9&10, in Deira, Dubai, UAE. The Second Construction Co Ltd of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau was the contractor of plot 1&2. China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (L.L.C) was the contractor for plot 9&10. AE Seven Morse Architecture & Engineering Consultancies Company'[11036636] was the MEP, architecture, structural engineering and lead design consultant. The project covered the construction of 10 buildings in total. The project was located along Al Rasheed Road (Dubai Corniche), in close vicinity of some most famous local scenic spots, such as Dubai Museum, Gold Souk etc. The major scope of the project included structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), fit out, landscaping and other related external auxiliary works. The plot 1&2 included 140000 sq.m area with 1 office building and 3 residential building. The plot 9 included 3700 area with 1 office building, 1 residential building. The plot 10 included 1 office building, a hotel, an apartment building, a car park. Construction period for plot 1&2 was 24 months. The project would greatly ease the pressure of traffic reception brought by the local tourist peak season, and play a positive role in expanding the local tourism consumer market and further releasing the local economic vitality.
