Background

Pakistan Railways planned to develop Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line Reconstruction Project, in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co.Ltd was the feasibility study consultant. Consortium of China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co.Ltd, China Railway Engineering Consulting Group Co.,Ltd, China Railway First Survey & Design Institute Group CO.,LTD. and China Railway Liuyuan Group Co Ltd was the design consultant. The project consisted of five parts: reconstruction of 1872 km existing line, 163 km of new freight lines, new Harvey Land port, station complex, and reconstruction of existing training centers. The project was from Karachi to Peshwar, Harvey was the northest point. Being an importation project in China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the project would ease local transportation and help BRI construction.
