Background

Government of Bangladesh planned to develop Bangladesh BRT Road Upgrade Project, in Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. China Gezhouba Group Co Ltd was the construction contractor. The project covers the construction of 16 KM Road, 19 Bus Stations, 5 Bridges Across and1 Interoperability Overpass. The BRT road upgrade project from Gazipur to Dhaka Airport in Bangladesh was the first proposed rapid transit system in Bangladesh, starting at the exit of the capital Dhaka International Airport and ending at Gazipur, and the scope of the project included road upgrades and widening, as well as the construction of rapid transit lanes, rapid transit stations (including access) and bridge crossings. This project would not only improve the traffic conditions of the Dhaka Airport to Gazipur section, but also promote economic exchanges between the rest of Dhaka and the northern part of Dhaka, which was of great significance to the improvement of traffic conditions throughout Dhaka, and was supported by the local government and the people by promoting urban low-carbon space planning and the development of urban public transport systems, reducing urban CO2 emissions, improving air quality, improving people's livelihood and guiding sustainable urban development
