Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited and Gas Transmission Company Limited planned to develop Titas Gas Field Wellhead Compressors & Gas Transmission Line Project in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. PetroChina Co Ltd was the Installation EPCC contractor of the compressors. Valvitalia SpA was the Civil work EPC contractor of the transmission pipeline. NARI Technology Co Ltd was the SCADA & Telecommunication System EPC contractor of the transmission pipeline. Consortium Of China North Vehicle Corp and Nanjing Julong was the pipe supply contractor of the transmission pipeline. The project had 2 components. Component 1 covered the construction of 7 reciprocating compressors with a capacity each of 60 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas. 5 compressors would be operating at a time while 2 compressors would be standby. The daily output capacity of compressed gas would be 300 MMCFD. The compressors would require 5 MMSCF of natural gas daily as fuel for its operation and 16 tons of water per day for its closed recirculating cooling water system. Component 2 covered a 181 km, 36-inch parallel gas pipeline traversing Chittagong through Feni to Bakhrabad, 9 associated valve stations, a pig launcher, 2 town border station (TBS), a pig receiver and a metering station, and other supporting facilities. The project aimed at improving efficiency in gas production and expanding gas transmission pipeline capacity in Bangladesh. It would also promoted the Belt & Road cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
