Background

Civil Aviation Administration of China planned to develop Qinghai Yushu Airport, in Yushu, Qinghai, China. The project planned to use 2030 as the short-term target year and 2050 as the long-term target year. In the near future, it has met the annual passenger throughput of 1.3 million passengers, cargo and mail throughput of 1,000 tons, and aircraft movements of 13,265 vehicles. In the long-term, it meets the annual passenger throughput of 3.5 million passengers, the annual cargo and mail throughput of 1,800 tons, and the annual aircraft movement of 35,714 vehicles. The project aimed to accelerate the construction of civil aviation infrastructure in Qinghai, expand the routes from Qinghai to important countries and regions along the 'Belt and Road', and build Qinghai into the 'Belt and Road' air passage.
