Thar Electricity (Private) Ltd planned to develop 1400 MW Thar Block VI Coal-fired Power Plant Project - Phase 2, in Thar Block VI, Thatta, Sindh Province, Pakistan. SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation was the EPC contractor. The project covered the construction and installation of other 2 sets of supercritical circulating fluidized bed with the installed capacity of 700 MW after the completion of phase 1. The coal source would be from the planned mining areas with a size of 67.18 sq.km around. The project was a priority project listed in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. It was a Belt and Road project cooperated between Chinese and British companies and located in Pakistan. After the completion of it, it was expected to ease the power shortage in Pakistan. In Jun 2019, Oracle Power announced that project shareholders redrew the plan of this project. The project was currently planned to be developed in 1 single phase, so the original 2 phases had been canceled.
