Background

The project is located on the river Ntem in the south-west of the Cameroon. The Manville Hydropower Project, is a model project for the National “One Belt, One Road” initiative. With a total investment of 637 million US dollars and a total installed capacity reaches 211 MW and the reservoir can store water as much as 19 million m3. Minister of Power & Water Resources of Cameroon is projec owner and Sinohydro is EPC contractor for the project an Sinohydro Bureau 16 was responsible for the construction and implementation work. Back into 2009 Sinohydro already signed preliminary agreement with Cameroon government to construct the project. The construction work completde in December 2017. In February 2018, project owner investigated main part of the project and approved the quality.
