Background

Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) plans to expand Al Maktoum International Airport (JXB) at Dubai World Central in Jebel Ali, Dubai, U.A.E. The project aims at increasing the airport's capacity to accommodate up to 220 million passengers. The project will be executed in 3 Packages: Package 1 will be able to handle around 160 million passengers and Package 2 will be able to handle around 120 million passengers. The project also covers an infrastructure package including: office sites, roads, sewerage lines and other infrastructure related facilities. Leslie Jones Architecture is the cost management consultant. Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners) S.A.L. is the design consultant.
