Pepel Port-Tonkolili Iron Ore Mine Rail Line Rehabilitation Project

Kingho Railway & Port Co Ltd planned to develop Pepel Port-Tonkolili Iron Ore Mine Rail Line Rehabilitation Project from Pepel Port to Tonkolili Iron Ore Mine in Sierra Leone. Kingho Railway & Port Co Ltd was the BOO developer. China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation was the construction contractor. The project covered the construction of a 192km rail line. The government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Mines & Mineral Resources, and the National Minerals Agency (NMA) signed the lease agreement granting Kingho Railway & Port Co Ltd the right to operate the railway and port facility. This project was the supporting infrastructure for Tonkolili Iron Ore Project. The project would provide transportation convenience to the area and promote the Belt & Road Initiative cooperation between Sierra Leone and China.
