Background

Nakheel plans to build Palm Jebel Ali, the second largest palm of Nakheel's Palm Trilogy located close to Sheikh Zayed Road, 50 Km of the coast of Jebel Ali district in Dubai, UAE. The palm shaped island will have 17 fronds and 4 crescents (A,B,D,E) forming the breakwater. The project covers the construction of a mixed development with a built up area of 13,500,000 sq.m, including residential and commercial outlets, hotels, 6 Marinas, a sea village and over 1000 water homes, a theme park, dredging and land reclamation works and infrastructure works. The palm is connected to the mainland by 3 bridges (M1, M2 and M3) and to the crescents by also 3 bridges (C1, C3 and C4). Upon completion, the project will have the capacity to accommodate up to 300,000 residents. Hill International is the PMC.
