Local Government Engineering Department planned to develop Gaibandha Teesta Bridge Project, in Gaibandha, Gaibandha, Bangladesh. China Construction Seventh Engineering Division Corp Ltd was the construction contractor. Construction would comprise of a 1.49 km main bridge, 4 km of approach roads, and 6.3 km of river management projects. This project was the first government cash exchange project won by China Construction South Asia Corporation in Bangladesh. The construction period was 36 months. After the completion of the project, the commuting distance of roads between the two places would be shortened by about 80 kilometers, which would effectively promote local economic ties and social development. This project was under Belt and Road Initiative.
