Bui Power Authority planned to develop 45 KW Hohoe Hydroelectric Power Plant Project, in Hohoe, Volta Region, Ghana. International Network on Small Hydro Power and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) were the consultant of the project. United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was also the supplier of the project. The project covered the construction of 45 KW Power Plant, concrete diversion weir, an intake structure, diversion channel, a forebay, steel penstock, a powerhouse, a transmission line and so on. The project would provided more electricity for nearby residents in order to satisfy the need. Besides, as an ahydro scheme, its energy source was green and no carbon emissions would be emitted. Thus, as an environment-friendly project and the first micro-hydro plant in Ghana, it would also draw people from all walks of life to visit the plant, which would create additional economic benefits.
