Background

Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Limited planned to develop 2X75 MW Upper Stung Tatay Hydropower Project, in Stung Tatay River, Koh Kong, Cambodia. Beijing Sanlian International Investment Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China National Heavy Machinery Corp, was the BOT developer. The project covered the construction of 150 MW hydro power plant. The project was located about 20 kilometers upstream of Stung Tatay Hydropower Station. The construction period would be 48 months. This was a BOD project in a period of 35 years. The project would increase local electric supply and promote Belt and Road Initiative.
