250 MW Syvash Wind Farm Project

Also known as: East Renewable Energy Syvash Wind Project


Syvashenergoprom LLC planned to develop 250 MW Syvash Wind Farm Project, in Chaplynka, Kherson, Ukraine. Owner company was a joint venture of Norwegian project developer NBT AS and France-based renewable energy independent power producer Total Eren SA. Nordex SE in Germany was the supplier of turbines. Powerchina International Group Ltd was the EPC contractor. The project covered the construction of 250 MW wind farm with 1307 hectares. The project consist of 63 units of Nordex N131-3.9 MW turbines and was to generate approximately 850 GWh of electric power a year. Upon completion, the wind farm's output would be sold to state-owned Energorynok, Ukraine's wholesale electricity market operator. The project was constructed in 2 phases. The first phase included 133 MW wind farm construction. The second phase included the rest 117 MW. Upon completion, it would become the biggest renewable energy project in the country. It could serve approximately 100,000 households and save 480,000 tonnes of coal a year.
