Manama:  Zain Bahrain, the leading Mobile Broadband network operator in the Kingdom has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nasser Vocational Training Center (NVTC) to exchange knowledge and enhance research and innovation opportunities for its employees while simultaneously contributing to the economic growth of Bahrain.

Nasser Vocational Training Center is an entity that provides technical education and vocational training programs to Bahraini nationals and as part of the MoU, Zain Bahrain employees will have access to the center’s facilities for AI research, innovation, and projects as well as joint research programs to boost entrepreneurship. The collaboration also establishes a practical framework of cooperation between the two organizations in advancing their roles in developing entrepreneurial skills and professionalism in various fields of business.

The MoU was signed by Mohammed Zainalabedin, Managing Director at Zain Bahrain, Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at Zain Bahrain, and Dr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director at Nasser Vocational Training Center along with other senior representatives from the two organisations in attendance. The collaboration is part of Zain Bahrain’s efforts to develop and contribute to the growth of its employees, empower Bahraini women by encouraging and facilitating cooperation between the two entities. Zain Bahrain undertakes several programs to foster creativity and innovation amongst its employees and is renowned for providing new and innovative initiatives that will raise the profile of the local market, build employee competencies, and align with the values of Bahrain Vision 2030.

At the signing ceremony, Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Director, Communications & Investor Relations at Zain Bahrain commented, “The MoU affirms the importance of collaboration and will further strengthen Zain Bahrain’s research capacity. It will foster research culture amongst Zain Bahrain employees by promoting and conducting rigorous, independent, and relevant research utilizing NVTC’s facilities. We have always focused on employee growth and development and we hope this collaboration marks the beginning of a long and productive relationship towards building a body of high-quality research for the telecom industry and contributing to the economic development of the nation.”

Dr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Nasser Vocational Training Center, said, “The partnership with Zain Bahrain has come at a crucial time intending to strengthen the position of Nasser Vocational Training Center with pioneering work in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Kingdom. The center intends to establish a promising future for the youth by associating with Zain Bahrain, under the directive of His Royal Highness, The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to build similar bridges of cooperation with major companies in the Kingdom. The center targets to inspire, educate and develop the skills and capabilities of the youth in the Kingdom by providing them with an appropriate environment for scientific research, and contemporary training with the latest scientific findings in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing thus preparing them for the Bahraini labor market.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Mohammed Isa, Manager, Recruitment, Employee Relations & Youth Development, Human Resources, Zain Bahrain said, “The MoU falls in line with our strategic approach directed to provide capacity through training and research to ensure that Zain Bahrain employees are of a high standard and as such are provided with opportunities to work on contemporary challenges in the telecom sector to foster growth, productivity, and innovation.
