Dubai: Mobile IoT solutions provider, Workz Group announced today that it is the first eSIM provider to be awarded the GSMA certification for its consumer eSIM management platform as a cloud-based delivery. Workz received the certification under the GSMA’s Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS) to offer both consumer and M2M/IoT eSIM management services with data hosted at Microsoft Azure’s Paris site.

The announcement expands Workz’ fully GSMA-accredited product portfolio that includes eSIM module production, data personalisation and remote Over-The-Air (OTA) management of eSIM devices. The newly certified site will provide geo-redundancy to mobile network providers across accredited data centres in Europe and Dubai. It is expected that by the end of 2021 the company will add a third certified cloud site in the US.

“Our new eSIM cloud platform and SaaS offering is the first solution to deliver complete flexibility, scalability and low cost of ownership for network providers. Combined with GSMA certification guaranteeing full security and interoperability, and Microsoft Azure’s hosting assuring minimum uptime of 99.95% we believe this is the most attractive way forward for MNOs” says Workz CEO, Tor Malmros.

Workz is recognised by Counterpoint Research as one of the top five providers of eSIM technology in the world. It serves over 100 network operators and service providers worldwide.

eSIM use is growing rapidly, the GSMA states that over 175 mobile operators already offer eSIM subscriptions – with the total number of connected eSIM devices due to hit 6bn by 2025 from 1bn in 2020.
