Hay Al-Sharooq International School is all set to change the face of education in Sur

Sur - The Hay Al-Sharooq International School (HASIS), an independent educational entity, fully owned by Oman Development Foundation (ODF) is providing a cutting-edge ‘Hybrid Curriculum’, which has been specifically designed for the school with the aim to transform teaching-learning experiences in the education system in the Wilayat of Sur and its adjoining areas.

By introducing the Hybrid Curriculum, the school brings the best internationally recognized curricular, to provide a holistic curriculum that encourages students to become future leaders and prepares them for the challenges of tomorrow.

This international education provided at HASIS, imparts students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become an active part of not just the Sultanate, but the world in the future; and gives them a head start for a successful and smooth transition from education to professional life. The school team has been working closely with its internationally experienced and reputed school management partner and an international curriculum partner, to introduce this new and unique solution for HASIS that will completely transform the teaching-learning experience. The new Hybrid Curriculum is in line with the school’s philosophy of ‘furthering the dreams of a new Oman’ and will help students in Sur and its vicinity get exposure to international educational norms that will further enhance their future.

Jonathan Warner, the Principal of the school averred: “It was a dream to develop a curriculum that keeps in mind the values of the Sultanate of Oman, while meeting international standards. Parents will not have to send their children or move their families to the capital city Muscat; as an international education will now be available to them right at their doorstep in Sur. The expertise of our school management partner in several education systems have supported us to shape our specially designed HASIS Curriculum. It is sure to unlock the potential of students, and equip them with holistic learning and a futuristic education, that prepares them for the challenges of tomorrow.”

He elaborated: “As educators and curriculum designers whenever we decide to take a decision that will impact generations, we think of these generations as our own children; and hence do the best ever for them. HASIS will provide a unique educational opportunity for students from kindergarten to Grade 12 in Sur, as well as its adjoining areas; and will furnish pupils with a strong foundation, enabling them to face the dynamics of the ever-changing world.”

HASIS provides purpose-built facilities and resources in academic, creative, sports, and performing arts subjects with teaching via the medium of English; thus providing students with the potential to be able to access Universities in the UK, USA and the rest of the world in the future.

Presenting a gateway to a wider world, HASIS will also render a nurturing environment, providing opportunities for academic achievement and fostering individual talents and strengths. Differentiated planning, as well as innovative and highly effective international teaching strategies will ensure the school is able to provide students with opportunities to develop their scholastic and interpersonal skills, as they learn and grow at HASIS. The school’s classes will be well resourced with state-of-the-art infrastructure that will encourage students to use information and communication technologies (ICT), thereby integrating technology into classroom learning

HASIS welcomes expatriate and Omani families to visit and get a first-hand experience of its facilities, and meet with its faculty members.

About HASIS:
