Manama, Bahrain : Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) held its monthly business networking lunch yesterday at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. The meeting was chaired by the BBBF Chairman Mr. Khalid Al Zayani OBE, who welcomed the keynote speaker Dr. Simon Galpin, Bahrain EDB’s Senior Advisor on Investment Promotion, to the meeting.  The meeting was also attended by Mr. Stuart Summers, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Bahrain and more than 80 BBBF members and their guests.

In his address, Dr. Galpin outlined the EDB’s approach to supporting and growing Bahrain’s Startup Ecosystem.

Dr. Galpin commented: “The Kingdom offers a growing opportunity for interested investors, including highly competitive operating costs, one of the region’s most skilled local workforces, and easy access to the Gulf’s largest market. At the EDB, we focus on attracting investment that helps further diversify our economy and generate jobs in the local market, working closely with potential investors to capitalise on the opportunities available to them in this $1.5 trillion Gulf market”.

“One of the BBBF’s core objectives is to assist and introduce new trade and investments to both countries that can benefit and enhance the common economic interests of our member companies. Therefore, providing support to new startups is important to the BBBF,” said Mr. Khalid Al Zayani OBE.
