ABU DHABI, U.A.E. - AmCham Abu Dhabi recently held its 11th Annual Roundtable Summit. Over 200 leading business executives, entrepreneurs, academics, thought leaders and government officials participated in this event.

The day included a panel discussion by Michael Davis, Chief Operating Officer, NMC Healthcare; Dr. Rakesh M. Suri, Chief Executive Officer & Chair of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa AL Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director at United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical), speaking about the strengths of the Abu Dhabi healthcare sector.

Jay Huston, Chairman, AmCham Abu Dhabi, stressed the importance of the Summit in bringing together the different stakeholders, “The dialogue helps us further our goals of increasing foreign direct investment in the U.A.E. and enhancing U.S. – U.A.E. commercial relations.”

H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance, remarked how impressed he was by the focus of the Roundtable Summit on strengthening the ties between the U.S. and the U.A.E.

U.S. Charge D’Affaires Steven Bondy, stressed the importance of AmCham Abu Dhabi’s efforts in strengthening the U.S. - U.A.E. relationship at all levels, “The U.S. Embassy values AmCham’s partnership in promoting U.S. trade and investment policies, providing a venue for engagement, and spreading awareness of U.A.E. importance to U.S. visitors.”

Talal Al Kaissi, Advisor to the Director General on strategic Projects, U.A.E. Space Agency, emphasized how the current leadership of U.A.E is determined to be one of the leading countries in the space sector through strategic collaborations with international partners in the space sector.

Industry leaders from Arts, Culture & Education, Cyber Innovation, Defense & Aerospace, FDI Trade, Healthcare, Oil & Gas and SME’s examined opportunities and challenges as seen from their sectors and U.S. - U.A.E. experience.
