Dubai - United Arab Emirates: The Excellence in Oncology Care Conference and Exhibition – EIOC, dedicated to the latest scientific and technology advances in Oncology Care is set to take place from the 17th to the 19th of October, 2019 at the Intercontinental Festival City in Dubai. The 3-day Oncology Care gathering running under the theme ‘Strike out the Word Cancer’ brings together leading multidisciplinary specialists and Oncology experts from the UAE and across the world, to discuss the latest international practices and explore new scientific breakthroughs in Oncology Care.

EIOC 2019 comes as a recent report by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) on the global burden of cancer suggests that over 36 types of cancer are affecting more than 43.8 million population in the world and one in 5 men and one in 6 women worldwide is likely to develop cancer during their life time. While there are many factors fueling the growth of cancer cases in the world including population growth, ageing, lifestyle, dietary habits and smoking, recent preventive efforts worldwide are focusing on raising awareness about cancer, better management systems to deal with cancer, breakthroughs in medications and better patient care.

This year, EIOC features a rich conference agenda bringing together over 200 world renowned speakers such as Prof. Solange Peters from Switzerland – President elect of European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), Prof. Axel Grothey from USA - specializing in GI cancers, clinical trial designs and statistics and Prof. Stephen Johnston from Royal Marsden Hospital UK – specializing in breast cancer to name a few. In addition, EIOC will feature 14 sessions specifically designed to offer practical skills to industry professionals and clinical practitioners and will present over 200 poster presentations by students from various colleges and universities. Conference attendees will have a chance to earn over 50 CME points accredited by Dubai Health Authority, in addition to the chance of improving their knowledge on the most urgent topics in Cancer research.

During the 3-day conference, EIOC will address a number of scientific topics under 14 Oncology subspecialties focusing on Head & Neck, Breast Cancer, Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer, Breast Oncology, Gynae Oncology, Uro Oncology, Cancer Imaging, Nutrition, Lung Cancer, Oncology Nursing, Palliative Care, Immuno Oncology Session, Urology Session and Biosimilars. In addition, a Live Operative Workshop from Tata Memorial Hospital, India will be held for the benefit of industry practitioners and clinical doctors attending the event.
