UAE: Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) recently organizedan interactive workshop for its Engineering Maintenance Department as part of the Kaizen Basic Training Program. Held in cooperation with Al-Futtaim Motors, the workshop formed part of DGW’s capacity development efforts to achieve government excellence. During the event, the Engineering Maintenance team gained new knowledge of the best industry practices and expertise using Kaizen’s basic methodologies of innovation and productivity according to the Dubai Government’s guidelines.

Fahad Ahmed Al Raeesi, Deputy Executive Director, DGW, said: “The successful workshop under the Kaizen program provided the participants with the skills and tools necessary to attain government excellence, which complement the unified efforts to achieve the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021. We are pleased to partner with Al-Futtaim Motors in hosting the successful workshop, which signified our continued commitment at DGW to collaborate with strategic government and private sector partners and focus on human capacity development as the foundation of our national growth.”

He added: “Kaizen uses a methodology equipping our human resources across levels with the right skills to improve their work performance in the midst of changing industry landscape. We are confident that the latest workshop yielded tangible results in alignment with the highest international standards and best engineering practices. We look forward to further implementing our employee training and development programs in support of our overall efforts to strengthen DGW’s role in establishing the excellence system within the Dubai Government.”

The workshop focused on the basics of the Kaizen methodology, highlighting the Six Sigma implementation stages, level measurement, data analysis, optimization, development, control, and problem-solving strategies. The participants also learned about the Six Sigma activities and the global operating guidelines for Toyota services, in addition to the storage technology and a best practice plan.
