Collaboration between DFWAC and Aman Shelter to help the victims of abuse

HE Afra Al Basti, Director General of DFWAC, and HE Khadija Al Aajel, Director General of AMAN, signed the memorandum today at the headquarters of the Center in Sharjah.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) and Aman Shelter for Women and Children (AMAN) signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and coordination between the two parties in receiving and providing shelter and psychosocial services for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence and child abuse.

HE Afra Al Basti, Director General of DFWAC, and HE Khadija Al Aajel, Director General of AMAN, signed the memorandum today at the headquarters of the Center in Sharjah.

According to the memorandum, a unified digital system will be developed to transfer cases between the two sides, in addition to sharing experiences, information and best practices in the field of social services, providing technical support, coordination in joint programs and awareness and education campaigns serving the targeted cases.

The two parties will also exchange invite each other to the internal training courses, specialized workshops, conferences or events organized by any of them, which will build capacity and raise the competencies of the employees, in addition to cooperation in the field of research and studies.

HE Afra Al Basti said that DFWAC is looking forward to the cooperation with Aman Center as a national duty to implement the leadership's vision of cooperation and coordination among different parties to achieve excellence.

She added that the Foundation always opens its doors to all the entities that are concerned with women and children, especially national bodies such as Aman Center, to benefit from its long experience in the protection and care of victims of violence and human trafficking, as its main goal is to serve the UAE and its people by enhancing the stability and cohesion of society.

Al Basti pointed out that having different bodies that are concerned with providing protection and care for the victims of violence in the UAE, reflects the great support by the wise leadership to women and children causes, and the keenness to achieve excellence in this field.

HE Khadija Al Aajel said that The great attention given by the wise leadership of the UAE to the social work requires all stakeholders in this field to work as one team, with self-denial to achieve a higher and greater goal which is to serve the poeple and support the stability of the UAE society.

She added that This agreement reflects the spirit of cooperation and integration among the various entities in the UAE and reaffirms that the multiplicity of bodies concerned with women and children in the UAE does not constitute any contradiction in the work and efforts of these institutions, but reflects the noble values in the UAE.

Al Ajlal expressed her confidence that this agreement will be the introduction of a full integration and partnership relationship with Dubai Foundation for the care of women and children, which will contribute to the development of work and services provided on both sides, ultimately in the interest of human service in the UAE.

It was established in July 2007 to offer victims immediate protection and support services in accordance with international human rights obligations.
