Dubai, UAE: Cisco hosted a group of school children for a book reading as part of their online safety awareness campaign.

During GITEX Technology Week 2019, Cisco unveiled its Classroom of the Future technology, designed to boost co-creation and collaboration between students, teachers and parents.

Through its WebEx Board – an end-to-end collaboration unit, GITEX visitors learned how Cisco is paving the way for smart classroom technology, both for students physically present within classrooms and those learning remotely via laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Cisco’s WebEx Board, which comes in 55, 70 and 85-inch variants is designed for presentations, videoconferencing and whiteboard scenarios, enabling users to write or draw on-screen with ease. As a user annotates the main board via touchscreen, each connected device also experiences live updates. When provided with the appropriate permissions, users can also collaborate via their own screens and participate in adding text or drawings.

Tied in closely with Cisco WebEx Teams, students can also connect via audio and visual communications, with whiteboard annotations and sticky notes being saved directly to the application – ensuring automatic and safe storage for future reference.

Cisco’s Classroom of the Future is designed to provide students with the opportunities they need to learn effective communication skills in today’s digital age. By engaging with students in a more interactive manner, use cases around the world have shown an increase in responsiveness and satisfaction from both pupils and teachers alike.
