Dubai: Atelier Swarovski Home unveils its latest collections, including works by Patricia Urquiola, Tomás Alonso and Peter Pilotto, at Downtown Design Dubai (November 12 – 15).

Building on the brand’s heritage of innovative design and crystal craftsmanship, the latest Atelier Swarovski Home collections include collaborations with Spanish designer Tomás Alonso and Milan-based Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola. Tomas Alonso’s ‘Prism’ collection is a series of contemporary trays that demonstrate the designer’s signature color play, with jewel-toned eye-catching crystal prisms contrasting with white Italian Carrara marble bases. Patricia Urquiola’s ‘Brillo’ collection is a series of iridescent containers covered in shimmering bespoke opal crystals meticulously hand-applied at Swarovski’s headquarters in Austria. The containers invite interaction and can be molded into different forms and shapes.

In addition, Atelier Swarovski has collaborated with famed Viennese glassmakers J. & L. Lobmeyr to create the Atelier Swarovski x Lobmeyr ‘Nest’ collection, a series of classic tumblers in green, blue, clear and rosaline colorways, featuring a hand-cut organic geometric pattern.

Also on show is celebrated fashion house Peter Pilotto’s ‘Arbol’ collection, a striking series of brass candle holders with structural forms and vibrant color combinations, handmade in Italy and illuminated by precision-cut Swarovski crystals; and the ‘Plinth’ collection designed by Kim Thomé, contrasting clean-edged metal with faceted crystal in a set of eye-catching crystal holders.

Alongside the designer collaborations, Atelier Swarovski presents its in-house collections, designed under the creative direction of Nadja Swarovski. The Crystal Garden collection is a series of four fragrant candles, each featuring a faceted design and sparkling crystal stone that corresponds with its scent. Keepsake boxes from the Rock collection feature a mirrored-metal base with a precision-cut crystal lid, and a candle holder is crafted from pure crystal. The iconic Aurora Borealis crystal effect used throughout creates kaleidoscopic effects and dazzling optical illusions.

Nadja Swarovski, Chair & Creative Director of Atelier Swarovski, commented: “We are delighted to present our latest Atelier Swarovski Home collections at Downtown Design Dubai, with a range of pieces which celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of our master cutters and the incredible creative vision of our design collaborators. This year we are pleased to showcase the inspirational work of Tomás Alonso and Patricia Urquiola, two of Spain’s leading design practitioners and global talents, as well as a stunning new collaboration with Austrian fine glassmakers Lobmeyr.”

Tomás Alonso - Prism

Tomás Alonso’s collection of contemporary trays features his signature color play; eye-catching crystal prisms with jewel-like coatings and glues are set within a marble base, creating an array of fascinating light effects. White Carrera marble has been masterfully cut in Austria to match the accurate tolerance of Swarovski’s precision cut crystals which then have been hand-applied to the trays by master gluers at Swarovski’s headquarters in Tyrol.

Patricia Urquiola – Brillo

Patricia Urquiola’s series of iridescent containers offers an intriguing new interpretation of Swarovski crystal. Hundreds of geometric fashion crystals in bespoke opal shades are hand-applied to flexible Kvadrat fabric at Swarovski’s historical headquarters in Austria. Through this process of master craftsmanship and innovation, solidity is transformed into mesmerizing fluidity. The shimmering objects invite interaction and can be molded into different forms and shapes for infinite decorative possibilities.

Atelier Swarovski x Lobmeyr – Nest

Created in collaboration with famed Viennese glassmakers J. & L. Lobmeyr, the Atelier Swarovski x Lobmeyr Nest collection features a classic tumbler design in four colorways – green, blue, clear and rosaline. The curved form of the glass nestles within a hand-cut organic geometric pattern, which catches and refracts light to intensify the vessel’s subtle hues.

Peter Pilotto – Arbol

London-based design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos translate their passion for print and color into the striking Arbol collection for Atelier Swarovski Home. The structural forms and vibrant color combinations draw on the same artistic inspiration as American sculptor Alexander Calder and Spanish architect Cesar Manrique. Handmade in brass in a workshop outside Florence, Italy, and illuminated by precision-cut Swarovski crystals, these pieces are a vivid and luminous addition to any home.

Kim Thomé – Plinth

Kim Thomé’s Plinth collection for Atelier Swarovski Home contrasts clean-edged metal with the light and clarity of Swarovski crystal in a set of eye-catching candle holders. The faceted crystal halo, in shades of pink, green and blue, attracts and refracts the candlelight, creating prismatic light and color effects.

Crystal Garden

The Crystal Garden collection is inspired by crystal and light. Featuring a faceted design and a sparkling stone, each candle is a jewel for the home.

- The White Tea scent includes notes of bergamot, mandarin, neroli and freesia.

- The Pink Jasmine scent includes notes of jasmine, peony and pink pepper.

- The Marine Iris scent includes notes of iris, cedar and white musk.

- The Peridot Patchouli scent includes notes of patchouli, frangipani, rosemary and nutmeg.

Rock

Designed in-house under the creative direction of Nadja Swarovski, the Rock collection is a joyful exploration of the unique qualities of Swarovski crystal. Inspired by the geometric forms of organic crystal, the keepsake boxes feature a mirrored-metal base with a precision-cut crystal lid and the candle holder is expertly crafted from pure crystal. These jewels for the home gain their powerful allure from the iconic Aurora Borealis crystal effect combined with Swarovski’s master cutting, creating kaleidoscopic effects and dazzling optical illusions.
