Dubai: Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries (AIMMP), Associative Design - The Best of Portugal, is showcasing an eclectic array of brands at Downtown Design, under Dubai Design Week, taking place at Dubai Design District (d3) from November 8 to 13, 2021.

Top-notch luxury brand products, showcased under the theme - `MADE IN PORTUGAL Naturally’, brings Portuguese flair and creativity to the Middle East. The Associative Design presents a small representation of a traditional Arabic house with products 100 per cent designed and produced in Portugal.

In this event, visitors will have a chance to see a mix of innovation, sustainability, and contemporary design, applied to furniture, porcelain, textiles and also a few author-design pieces. Some of these pieces were focused especially for private houses, dedicated to Interior designers, decorators, architects, and so on.

Commenting on this, Mr. Vítor Poças, President of the AIMMP, said, “The region is developing as a potential market for all types of furniture. In the UAE, people are increasing their spending on renovating homes (furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring), and are investing in higher-quality products. The demand for high-end luxury furniture items has increased over the years. Furniture items, which entail heavy fabric and leather, were more preferred by the people.”

“This rise in demand has led to the growing domestic demand and the emergence of multiple players catering to the same target audience. Manufacturers and retailers operating in the region compete on almost the same grounds of quality of the product and the material used to manufacture the product. Branded furniture companies are slowly starting to take over this market,” he added.
