HAMBURG- The lowest offer in the international tender from Egypt's state purchasing agency GASC on Wednesday to buy at least 30,000 tonnes of soyoil was believed to be $1,340 a tonne c&f, traders said in initial assessments.

No purchase has yet been made and a decision is expected later on Wednesday, traders said.

The lowest offer was made by trading house Belluno for 6,000 tonnes on immediate payment terms for arrival between Dec. 1-15.

The lowest offer for at least 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil also sought was assessed at $1,289 a tonne c&f for 12,000 tonnes from trading house Viterra also seeking immediate payment. The sunflower oil was offered for delivery between Dec. 1-15.

GASC is seeking offers for the import of soyoil and sunflower oil, with payment through 180-day letters of credit or at sight (immediate payment) for arrival in Egypt between Nov. 15-30 and/or Dec. 1-15.

In its last tender on Sept. 2, GASC bought 10,000 tonnes of soyoil at $1,310 a tonne c&f and 19,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $1,240 a tonne c&f for arrival between Oct. 20 and Nov. 5.
