PARIS - Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), bought 41,500 tonnes of soybean oil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds ($788.44) a tonne on Thursday in a local tender, traders said.

They gave the following breakdown of the purchase:

* Alexsseds: 20,000 tonnes of soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds($788.44) a tonne

* Watanya: 6,000 tonnes soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds ($788.44) a tonne

* El Magd: 5,000 tonnes soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds ($788.44) a tonne

* El Safa: 4,000 tonnes soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds($788.44) a tonne

* C3M: 3,500 tonnes soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds($788.44)

* Ever green: 3,000 tonnes soyoil at 12,300 Egyptian pounds($788.44) a tonne

GASC was seeking cargoes of at least 3,000 tonnes of soyoil and 2,000 tonnes of sunflower oil for arrival March 25-April 15.

Traders earlier said that GASC received a lowest offer at the tender of 12,350 Egyptian pounds ($785.62) per tonne for 13,000 tonnes of soyoil. 

The offer was presented by Alex. Co for Seeds, they said.
