Orascom Pyramids begins trial of Giza Pyramids electric bus route

The bus route will feature six stations

ArabFinance: Orascom Pyramids Entertainment started the trial operation of the first eco-friendly electric bus, according to an October 21st statement.

The bus route will feature six stations and take tourists on a circular route between the visitor center and the pyramids complex.

The company opened on October 20th the country's first-ever restaurant and lounge, dubbed 9 Pyramids Lounge, in Giza’s pyramid plateau.

In 2018, Orascom Investment Holding (OIH) signed a contract with the Supreme Council of Antiquities to allow the former to provide and operate the facilities at the Giza Plateau.

Chairman and CEO of OIH Naguib Sawiris said the ongoing Giza development project, at a total cost of EGP 301 million, aims to upgrade the services provided to visitors so as to live up to the “greatness of Egyptian civilization and the magnificence of this historical site.”
