Mubasher: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health will examine all individuals arriving from Egypt and Syria at their countries and Kuwait, in a bid to contain the outbreak of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Under the new directives, a PCR test for the new coronavirus will be conducted on all passengers showing high body temperatures before boarding to Kuwait-bound planes, health ministry undersecretary Mustafa Reda announced.

Passengers will not be allowed to enter the Gulf country unless they test negative for the virus on the same travel day.

Moreover, passengers showing regular temperatures will fill in a health form while a second temperature check will be conducted upon their arrival at Kuwaiti airports.

Kuwait’s authorities will undertake all regular procedures with those visitors and will inform them about all relevant instructions and will follow up with their development for 14 days.

If passengers show fever, they will be immediately sent to quarantine to conduct a coronavirus PCR test.

In this regard, Reda indicated that in case they tested positive for the virus, patients will be referred to a hospital that is well-equipped to handle the virus cases, whereas if they tested negative, they will undergo a 14-day quarantine period at home.

It is noteworthy that on Sunday, Kuwait reported that coronavirus infections reached a total of 46 cases.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the country's second case with the novel virus for a foreigner but denied news reports about sending two suspected cases of the new coronavirus to Nagila Hospital in Marsa Matrouh to be quarantined.
