AMMAN - The number of Jordanian tourists to the Philippines in 2019 reached about 2,000, marking an 88 per cent increase over 2018.

The Philippines embassy in Amman said in a statement on Wednesday that continuous promotional campaigns seek to make the Asian country the next emerging destination in Southeast Asia for the Jordanian tourism market, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The statement added that the Philippines looks forward to further developing the “permissible [halal] tourism” sector in the country’s current international campaign.
